Nature - Autumn equinox
Autumn equinox
September 22 was the autumn equinox.
On this day, Earth's axis is tilted side-on to the sun, resulting in almost equal hours of day time and night time worldwide.
This day represents the changing of the seasons — from summer to autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and from winter to spring in the Southern Hemisphere. The hours of darkness from this day gradually increase north of the equator until the solstice on December 21, and vice versa south of the equator.
I was camping in Scotland in the middle of a bike-packing weekend on this day so I’ve used this article as an excuse to show a few pictures.
